Hello everyone and welcome once again to eddieklive.com! It's been a nice and relaxing week after a whirlwind of travel and last minute studio work on my album. Thanks to everyone who came to the opening shows of the "Open Wings Broken Strings" tour. It was such an amazing time and all of the artists are really excited to continue with it. It's safe to say that the vibe and chemistry between leigh, art and myself is super cool and judging by the incredible response to the shows, you all feel it too. Stay tuned to eddieklive.com for more updates.

A few tidbits about the store; the newest bootleg is from the show in Groningen, Holland back in June. It was a fantastic night and the audio/video came out great. More bootlegs coming!

And ALAS! the. pendant. is. here. Well, its not in the store just yet. I had a heck of a time picking a necklace for it and found a ball chain that is really cool. The chains are ordered, and the first batch of pendants will be available next week...woohoo! (see the pic attached to this blog)

I'm double-espresso'd up and headed out to seize this beautiful california saturday!
peace!!!

WOW! What an opening night last night for the "Open Wings, Broken Strings" Tour! It was really cool to launch it my hometown of York,Pa. Leigh Nash and Art Alexakis are amazing artists and people and you simply have to catch this show, it's really special. The GREAT news is that we are planning lots more shows beginning early next year and beyond. Stay tuned to eddieklive.com for more info.

I have the EK pendant! I'm actually wearing it in the attached picture. I know, you can't really see it here (such a teaser, apologies lol)...but it's AWESOME! Everyone involved in helping me realize and create it really went beyond the call of duty. It's art, it's jewelry, it manages to communicate depth and a vibe in a way that SO matches me as an artist...i will definitely be developing more of this type of stuff. I'm going to do a photo shoot with it when I get home and will get it up on the store with a silver chain as well as an adjustable leather necklace option. I will send an email notice when it's all set to order. BTW, it's made of sterling silver, really nice.

OK, time to go and get ready for the second night of the OWBS tour in Stroudsburg, PA tonight.

peace!

hello all! I missed my first mandatory weekly blog last week..oh no lol. I was traveling, or shall I say, I was trying to travel. long story short, it was all united airlines' fault. anyway..enough of that..welcome!

I am in NYC and it's a beautiful thing. Rocco's black and white cookies (see attached pic) make me want to live next door to the place. they are something to be experienced by all lovers of treats. And the pizza here, wow, love it. It's really nice outside, so i will be all over this city today..will let you know if I have anymore food epiphanies, I'm sure I will, it is NYC after all!

Really excited for the first Open Wings, Broken Strings dates this weekend!!! I have my acoustic and the EKoustic Rock will be flowin' on the east coast in a few days. Can't wait.

Doing more little tweaks on my album; dialing it in for a perfect landing into your beautiful ears sometime spring 2010 (but will stream something before that, so as always, stay tuned to eddieklive.com).

I am told by the powers that be that I will be seeing the EK pendant later this week...woohoo! coming soon.

OK, and I'm off to walk the treasure and trash lined streets of the big apple....

Working with a legend.
Friday, October 9, 2009 - 00:00

hello everybody and welcome to eddieklive.com! What a week! First off, let me thank everyone who was at the HMH show with the Metropole Orchestra. It was truly the night of a lifetime and we got it all on video and audio...so stay tuned for details on a DVD/Album release.

On the album front, I finished my vocals last night in Los Angeles and we are now mixing. It is sounding so good! CJ, my producer, is working some serious sonic magic on this baby. lol

I am delighted to announce that the legendary Alan Aldridge will be designing the album cover and all of the artwork for my album. Alan's work is absolutely stunning and his illustrious career includes work with The Beatles, The Who, Elton John and, more recently, Incubus. Check out more of his work here www.alanaldridge.net

Headed in for some much needed home-cooking and an early night; gotta rest up, there's a hurricane of EK on the way!!! you ready? :)

And welcome to eddieklive.com! Big show tonight here in Amsterdam. I've been having a wonderful time in Holland, it's always great to feel the love here. The rehearsal with Metropole orchestra went really well and I'm headed over to the Heineken Music Hall for soundcheck later this afternoon. The show is being filmed and recorded, so stay tuned to eddieklive.com as the plans for the recording unfold..exciting! Tomorrow I head back to Cali to finish vocals and the mixing for my new album. In the coming weeks, I'll be dialing in the artwork and all of the details of the finished product. It's been an absolute pleasure and labor of love and I can't wait for you to hear it!

And welcome once again to eddieklive.com! At home and living with the incredible rough mixes of my new album. All the music is tracked and we are moving the project to Los Angeles for mixing and final vocals in just under two weeks. Yeah!

I just submitted the set list for the show with the Metropole Orchestra next Saturday in Amsterdam, sure to be some surprises in there ;) I'm going to be debuting a brand new track from my new album as well as a few older gems that are sure to be stunning with the orchestra; including "Nobody Knows". I'm really looking forward to the show and to being in Holland again. I bought Dan Brown's "The Lost Symbol" for the long flight; haven't read any fiction for awhile so I'm ready for a page turner..I hear I won't be disappointed.

The long-awaited EK good luck, wearable meditation, too-cool-for-school pendant is in production! I'm told we'll be seeing those in a few weeks. Also, I've chosen a winner for the t-shirt contest and will be announcing it soon as well as making the shirt available..it's really great!

Photo attached to the blog is from the session in Austin, which once again, was totallly legendary and unforgettable!

Hey Everybody! Greetings once again from Austin, Texas and welcome to eddieklive.com...grab a comfy seat:) Totally incredible week in the studio making my album and on so many levels that its hard to find words to describe it. My producer, CJ Eiriksson is doing a fabulous job. Each of the musicians are definitely exceeding the call of duty and bringing the ROCK with spirit and passion to all of my new songs. And of course, my les paul has been busy in guitar world as well. Everytime I put the rough mix CD's in my car stereo, I am blown away! Austin has got such a good vibe and it's seeping into every nook and cranny of the album like butta into a hot english muffin (i'm hungry as I type this lol). I mentioned in the newsletter that I've been recording my vocals with a handheld mic as per the advice of CJ. This is the method that Bono uses (CJ is an engineer and mixer on the latest U2 album) and it lends itself to a more "live" feel as you can use more of your body to sing, just like in concert. So, the vocals are sounding better than ever, in my humble opinion :) The material is uplifting, dark at times but not depressing, sonically explosive, diverse, yep it's damn good.

thanks for tuning in!

It's begun!!! Today was the first day in the studio for my new record and it was one to remember. First of all, thank you Austin...well, for just being you. Unique, fun, live music capital, great food, great people, great coffee....got room for an extra bald headed neighbor of polish descent? lol. OK, back to the recording. The man in the pic connected to the blog is drummer, Ramy Antoun. Ramy is an intensely talented individual and totally blew my mind today. We cut 7 drum tracks in oh, say roughly, 6 hours! Amazing at every level. Really looking forward to tomorrow to listen to Ramy again and to continue on this wicked fun EK rock and roll journey. Did I mention that I LOVE what I do? And thank you for staying tuned...I think ya'll (remember i'm in texas) are really gonna dig it.

Home sweet home!
Saturday, August 29, 2009 - 00:00

Greetings everybody...ahhh..that hissing is the sound of my body-mind decompressing from a whirlwind tour of E-KOUSTIC-nomad-love rock....fun! I am changing gears as we speak and putting myself into recording preparation mode. Headed to austin in less than two weeks to start the record! For those of you who have seen the last three shows, the nice lady on stage with me playing the cajon drum is Jen Lowe. She's an amazing musician and specializes in all manner of unique percussion instruments; new ideas for the show are flowing like maple syrup and butta from a stack of belgian waffles (i'm hungry as I type this). lol. So, as always, stay tuned for more! Jen is also going to play percussion on my new album, super excited. You can check out her sites at www.boomboompercussion.com and www.jenlowe.com.

A couple sweet new EK wearables in the store, A jammin' hoodie (design concept by my lovely wife and dave snyder, nice!) and two new t-s as well which are HOT. capitals. yep. check em out. :)

the pic attached to this blog is from my backyard, taken directly outside eddie k world headquarters...i like neighbors, really i do, i just don't want any ;)

Seattle!!!
Friday, August 21, 2009 - 00:00

Hello everybody and greetings from Seattle, Washington! The coffee gods decided to route my tour so that I could re-enter the generally mediocre coffee universe of the USA via the Awesome seat of the sacred bean, Seattle. Australia is the unsung coffee and culinary champ of the world. Really, it has to be experienced to be believed. OH, and the fans are great too. lol I am still buzzing from my whirlwind tour down under. It was so much fun to be with everyone and what an incredible energy to take into the STUDIO next month when I record my album. Incredibly blessed. Thank. You.

Also really excited to come back to Holland to sing with the Metropole Orchestra at Heineken Music Hall in October. If you haven't bought tickets yet, please hurry cuz I just heard that we are fast approaching a sell out there. I do believe it's going to be a very special event. The show will be 90 minutes long with all original scores and a 70 piece orchestra. That's a big ole serving of EK Orchestral LOVE, come and get some! (pssst., Americans who have never been to Amsterdam, it is an incredible place and we'd love to have you.)

OH, and I have not spaced on the t-shirt contest or the EK pendant. Both are in the works; sorting through the entries and preparing to both announce a winner and print t's...and I just saw a wax model of the pendant and it is STUNNING, wearable meditation, super duper awesome.

love, eddie k xoxoxoxoxo
