Hello All!
sending you lots of love from down under. WOW, this tour has been amazing so far. I'm really looking forward to these next two shows in Melbourne. This is such a fantastic city!

It's hard to put into words the effect these solo acoustic shows are having on me as an artist. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to share my music like this with you all. There is a closeness that settles in after about 30 minutes that is just beyond. It feels a little like the calm before a storm; a nice dousing, torrential downpour of new EK tunes!!! Come on, get ready....lol.

Gonna go grub some room service.... love eddie xoxoxo

TGIF! lol

hello everybody!
It's been a wild and crazy and awesome week. I realized a few of my dreams and that's always a good thing. I launched my charitable organization, "Everlasting Arms". Its just the beginning, but I have big plans for developing it into a significant channel of giving and support for a range of charities. Concerts, music, special merchandise and auctions are all on the way. Stay tuned and let's all get together and make a difference! sound good? YES! lol.

The top video streaming on the media page is a song I wrote with Karsh Kale called "Dirty Water, Lotus Flower". If you don't know who Karsh is, please get those googling fingers googling and those itunes accounts primed and find out! You won't be disappointed, he's incredible. We plan to do a lot more music and even some shows together.

I'm also still putting the finishing touches on my record and will begin recording very soon. Super excited to get started and the songs are already big hits around the homestead. A 7 year old will give it to you straighter than tommy motola on your material, and Ana loves it all! so there you go :)

Hey Ozzies, I'm packing for the tour that starts next week and I'm wondering...is it boxer or brief weather down there? Do I need a beanie for my bald head? Whats the temp like at night? Tweet me up and let me know. See you soon! Good on ya!

Hello everybody! I'm writing this blog from Knoxville, headed to Nashville in a little while for my show there tonight. This has been an amazing past few weeks. The shows in Europe were fantastic! And to my own amazement I got through a mental block I've maintained for a while about writing music on the road, and actually did some...woohoo! I'm going into the studio in September to start recording; I can't wait. Stay tuned as I am planning some more art offerings here at EDDIEKLIVE.COM, along with more bootleg volumes, more shirts, the super-good luck EK pendant lol, and lots more. Thanks for checking in and for hanging around a bit, I like you-you're super cool company. :)

PS: Are you ready for the EK Australia? Lemme hear you scream, yes, right where you are, go ahead and belt out a HELL YEAH!! (tell your boss I'm sorry for the disruption if you're at work)

Fun Times!
Friday, July 3, 2009 - 00:00

hello everybody, hope this blog finds you all healthy, happy and well-beveraged lol, (you know what i'm talkin' about ;) What a week this has been in Europe for the EK. Incredible, heart-moving, intimate, monumental, and lots more adjectives that don't even begin to capture it. Really such a pleasure being with everyone. These acoustic shows are so inspiring. Something happens when it's just me and that box with strings up on stage, I find a new capacity for connecting with you that is totally thrilling and is the beginning of so much more. Again, it all comes back to you and all of the great energy that you share with me. In Chinese energy terms these acoustic shows are more "yin", intimate, connected, receptive, etc. But not to worry, the yang will represent again! Actually, it will be somewhat more like BANG! lol. Just roll with the EK on this baby, I got you. ;) As always, stay tuned.

PS: All you artists out there, professional, amateur and everything in between...I want you to dig deep, meditate on whatever, and come up with the most singular, shockingly original idea for a logo or tshirt design based around yours truly. no limits, no guidelines, total freedom! let's go! send them to eddiekdesigns@gmail.com. There will be a prize for the one that rises to the apex of fabulous...(not sure what that prize will be yet, but i'm pretty good at prizes, just ask my kids..it will be good. ;)

Greetings from Europe!

Hello all and welcome once again to EDDIEKLIVE.COM! I made it to europe...yes, the EK and his acoustic guitar have landed. I'm really excited to be here and can't wait to do the shows. My first is tonight in Gent, Belgium. Yesterday, i walked around in brussels. Such a beautiful city! OH, and how much does a franchise of an Illy cafe run? Yes, that's right, Illy cafes are a chain here (never seen one stateside) I wanna open one! Right next to my house lol. Actually, maybe i'll just buy a couple red chairs and put 'em on my porch, be much cheaper. :)

To everyone who was at the Schuba's show in Chicago; There will be a bootleg volume of that concert. Just downloaded the audio and its awesome IMHO :) So stay tuned for that. Also, I'm coming to Australia! Gonna be in August, dates announcing very soon.

As always, feel free to hang around a bit..hugs xoxoxo

PS: RIP Michael Jackson, above and beyond it all, your voice was pure Gold from above. Peace.

Jimmy Page!
Friday, June 19, 2009 - 00:00

Hello all and welcome to EDDIEKLIVE.COM! It's been an awesome week and capped off like I couldn't have imagined. I was strolling up to a favorite coffee spot of mine on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon. I was on a MAM, that's "a mission for a mocha". So I go in and there are a few older gentlemen standing around checking out the gelato and the menu on the wall. Their backs were turned toward me, so I scooted around them. When I got to the order spot, I turned and saw their faces...and the man in the middle was none other than JIMMY **ckin' PAGE! So, yes, I officially cut the line in front of the GREATEST living rock guitarist....oopsy daisy lol. The best part was that he was with an old friend of mine (perfect timing ole' Ross!) so I got the introduction. I gushed slightly, he graciously accepted and that, my friends, was that. (He did perk up a little when Ross mentioned LIVE, hey, I'll take it.) I'll never forget hearing "stairway to heaven" for the first time; sneaking my sony cassette walkman into bed, pulling the covers over my 12 year old head and listening four times in a row. AWESOME!!!

Little update for those of you waiting anxiously for my first non-musical offering of art, the LImited Edition Giclee prints of the "Beginner's Lucky Mind" painting. They are ready to go! Should be in the store in the next few days....woohoo!

Mocha's, Jimmy Page, Giclee prints, bootlegs, blogs, new tourdates, what CAN'T you find on EDDIEKLIVE.COM? (rhetorical question) lol.

peace!

Layne Staley Tribute
Saturday, June 13, 2009 - 00:00

Hey all,
I'm excited to announce that I'll be headlining the Layne Staley Tribute concert this year in Seattle, WA. (Click on tour dates page for details.) I count Alice in Chains as a significant influence/inspiration of mine in the early 90's. Layne's voice had a quality that was pure rock soul. You couldn't listen to him sing and not be immediately compelled and drawn into a realm of deep emotion. To me, Alice in Chains will always be the "heaviest" band that I've ever heard or felt. I got a chance to meet Jerry Cantrell about a month ago in Los Angeles. He was kind enough to indulge the super fan in me by detailing his influences and how he got to that incredible place musically that was at once gothic chant, led zeppelin and the beatles wrapped up into one...incredible story. Needless to say, in Socal surfer parlance, I am STOKED to be a part of the show. See you there!

From the road....
Friday, June 12, 2009 - 00:00

hello everybody! hoping this blog finds you all happy and healthy. yesterday afternoon in vegas I tweeted a quick invite and met up with 6 or 7 wonderful EK twitterites who got a one song soundcheck in scorching vegas heat...but i think they were ok with it. :) Before i left to come out on the road I was writing more music. The feel of it is really intimate and inspirational, kind of like a conversation with a friend. i want to write a group of songs that really work as an album. I still believe in the album as an artform, even if some people end up chopping it up itunes style. it helps me to frame the writing process, not just random "single" songs but a trip through my heart-mind. of course, i'm fine with however people digest it, whole or in pieces like a pizza...maybe i'll call it "no slices" like john's pizza on bleecker st. lol. Feel free to hang out for a bit, kick up your feet, it's cool.... ;)

PS: a couple new photos up

Happy Friday!
Friday, June 5, 2009 - 00:00

Hey everybody! HOLY espresso beans, where did the last week go? I guess time really does fly when you're having fun..and I always have lots of fun ;) especially with the wonderful opportunity you all give me to do what I do as an artist (big round of applause to you!) Last night I had a lot of fun signing and numbering a new offering for the store here at eddieklive.com. For those of you who thought my "beginner's lucky mind" painting was just too cool for school, you're in luck! I had giclee prints made of the original and will be putting them in really nice frames and mats. They should be available in a week or so. And not to worry, i spent a WHOLE lot more time working on new music than I did tinkering around with other artforms LOL. OH, and I hear and feel your worldwide longing for eddie k. shows and without getting into too much detail (as they are still coming together) I am planning a LOT more of them this year, along with more international dates. Stay tuned! Big Hugs xoxoxo

Welcome!
Friday, May 29, 2009 - 00:00

Greetings All and welcome to Friday Blog Day at EDDIEKLIVE.COM. Have a seat (you're probably already sitting) and poke around a little. :) It's been a busy and fun week around here so there's some new things to check out. The mini-concert series has been really fun for me to do and judging by the tweets and the views, I'm gathering that ya'll are diggin' it! Lots of you are asking about new material and the good news is that the writing process is bangin' on all cylinders and I should be ready to start playing a few things here and there very soon. So stay tuned! In the meantime, I've been focusing my creativity in a few new areas of interest for me. Songwriting for extended periods makes me start to see the neck of my guitar when I close my eyes, kind of like playing a driving video game for a few hours straight, so I do need to take a break once in a while! On that note, if you've been in the store you've seen the new Zen Brush Painting T-shirt. That image was lifted from my first attempt at the artform. It's funny because I thought it came out pretty darn good and called it "beginner's luck" which is sort of an oxymoron in Zen Brush Painting! Being that the "beginner's mind" or the state where you have no expectations or presumed limitations IS Zen Mind or Buddha Mind. So there ya go, Beginner's Lucky Mind T-shirt. LOL I'm also in the midst of developing a special Eddie K. silver pendant, gonna be super cool. Hang out for awhile, i'll be at the espresso machine with my mouth on the spout, keep 'em coming 'til the beans run out!!!
peace and infinite laughter
